Engine Exhaust Systems
Factory built is a very nice alternative to schedule 40 black steel with field applied insulation. These stainless steel lined options actually cost less money, are fully warranted, already insulated and light weight. Factory built is almost a standard now. Note that 2″ and 4″ thick fiber is typically used.
Sample Specifications
Prefabricated system listed to UL-103 for Factory-Built Chimneys and UL-103’s ‘Positive Pressure Applications Test.’ The system shall be made with 304 [316] stainless steel inner liner, 2” [4”] fiber insulation, and aluminized [304] [316] steel outer jacket. Vent shall be designed for maximum 1,400°F and positive pressure of 60” W.C.
Complete with: factory ANSI flange connections at engine and silencing equipment, excessive relieve valve, lateral and wye tees, drain caps, lined bellow joints, stack supports and full angle guides, roof thimbles, flashings, and termination. All items as specified by Appliance and Pressure Stack manufacturers installation instructions.
Submit AutoCAD Drawings with Draft Calculations showing that the vent system is in complete compliance with both the Appliance and Vent manufacturers’ installation instructions.
